Nice to meet you, and welcome to our fam!

My name is Jon Di Mauro and evoke has been a labour of love and passion project of mine for the last 20 years. As they say, time really does fly when you’re having fun. We started evoke with the idea that we could create a space where people could enjoy a high-end hair experience without the drama and pretentiousness that sometimes accompanies the “high-end” name.

After all this time, evoke has developed into exactly what I had envisioned, and there’s even more to come. Over the years, my personal life has shaped a lot of the beliefs that evoke now exhibits. I was blessed with two little girls, who I love more than anything else in this world. So with them and their futures in mind, the world is what I started to heavily focus my attention on and subsequently the focus of evoke.
evoke is a salon that minimizes its daily carbon footprint by ensuring that all of the hair we cut stays out of a landfill. Any excess hair colour does not go down the drain or thrown in garbage, but is incinerated. The foils we use are collected and given to a company that properly washes and then recycles the high grade aluminum. The hoses on our sinks use 65% less water per minute during your relaxing shampoo.

We love our clients, and we believe that we have the best clientele in the world! We have been blessed to build great relationships over the years and its these connections that make everyday special to us.

We have big plans for the future, and together with our staff, and our amazing clients, we are confident that we’ll beable to create that reality togehter!

Let’s evoke the type of change this world needs, one relationship at a time.

evoke first opened its doors in 1100 sq ft on Yonge St. just north of Eglinton Ave. in Toronto’s Mid-Town area.

We realized that even though we had tried to utilize every single inch of the 1100 sq ft we had, evoke had outgrown its space and it was time to move. We relocated to the intersection of Yonge and Eglinton and more than doubled in size.

We decided it was time to expand and opened a second location. When we assessed areas of Toronto to expand into our obvious choice was to pick the greenest and most beautiful area of Toronto, the Bloor West Village.

After a decade on Bloor street in the village, evoke relocated to the up and coming area Baby Point Gates, just south of Bloor West Village. We were able to finally acquire a permanent home for evoke that would develop into a one of a kind salon space. Our new location at 241 Jane St. is a dream location for evoke. We are a close walk to the subway and we can offer our clients 2hr free parking right outside our front door! We have a backyard which makes for amazing summers that our staff and guests love to use during their visit. We are thrilled with our new home and feel safe and secure knowing we’ve got a permanent home for our salon community.

We look to the future inspired by ambition and relationships. Our clients mean everything to us and together we look forward to making a real impact on your personal style and confidence, but also on climate change. We are proud of where we have come from and what the support of our amazing clients has allowed us to achieve. We feel confident that our journey is still long and filled with joy, passion, and beautiful relationships.

“Every client walked out with a smile”

Susy listened closely to what I wanted in a cut and she did an awesome job. Everyone at Evoke was very friendly and each client that I saw while I was there walked out with great style and was very happy with their result (as I was). I’m very pleased that I tried Evoke and will definitely be back

“I am still getting compliments on my cut”

My experience at Evoke is always a pleasure. Helen knows my hair well and gives me a great cut. This time, she cut my hair so I could donate it. The experience was fantastic and I am still getting compliments on my cut a week later!

“Professional place with an awesome vibe!”

First time client and will definitely be coming back. From the time you walk in your are met with friendly staff. Jon took time to discuss what I wanted to get done, offered his input, made me feel comfortable and gave me a haircut that I love. Professional place with an awesome vibe!
